How to Program a Ford Key Fob Step by Step

Not sure where to even begin when it comes to programming a Ford key fob? That’s okay! Collinsville drivers of any skill level can program a key fob when they follow our easy steps: 

1. Close the doors of your Ford, then open the driver-side door. 
2. Push the “Unlock” button on the driver-side door. 
3. Turn the ignition from “Off” to “Run” eight times, all within 10 seconds. On the eighth time, be sure to end on the “Run” button. This should make the doors lock and unlock. 
4. Push any button on the key fob within eight seconds to reprogram the fob. 
5. The door locks should cycle again to confirm that the fob has been programmed. 
6. If you have another key fob, then push any button the that fob within eight seconds. This will cycle the door locks. 
7. Repeat this process if you have any other key fobs. 
8. After the key fob has been programmed, turn the ignition to “Off”. 
9. The locks should cycle again to confirm that the fob has been programmed and is ready for use.

Turning Off Ford MyKey

What if you sell your Ford to another Edwardsville driver and want to turn off your key fob? To do this, simply follow these instructions: 

1. Start your Ford with the main key fob if you have multiple fobs. 
2. Wait for the computer screen to turn on. 
3. Use the left arrow button on your steering wheel to access the menu. 
4. Push “OK” on the main menu.
5. Push “Settings” on the main menu.
6. In the “Settings” screen, find the “MyKey” option. 
7. Push “Ok”. 
8. In the “MyKey” section, select “Clear MyKey”. 
9. Push and hold the “OK” button until the “All MyKeys Cleared” message shows up on the screen.
